What is the value of “hope”?

As Barack Obama is inaugurated today, America celebrates. America is brimming with hope and anticipation, with Obama as the hero of the nation. The weight of the financial burden is currently on Obama and the American people and an inauguration is not going to take all that weight away. As someone said an Obama Inauguration ticket is not going to pay the rent or any other bills. But maybe this “hope” that Obama represents is the start. Maybe this “hope” will help carry Americans through this recession, and maybe change America forever. We shall see–I certainly wish Obama and American citizens all the best.

  1. As a foreigner who wants good things to happen in any and all parts of the world, I wish Americans will work more in harmony with their president. How successful Obama can be as American president will depend on how well his fellow-Americans can rein in their demands for their expectations to be satisfied.
