I definitely made the connection with the Chrysler/Detroit connection...
I now ask that we make the connection between a supportive Ontario and Province as Toronto enters it's Pride Week Festival without the governing support of it's Mayor, Rob Ford.
Dalton McGuinty has always supported our Pride and we should ask the Premeir to Join us instead next week.

If you get a chance, can you give a quick summary of Anita's views on how the Federal government can support innovation--especially in the high tech area?
Thank you.

Well said, Uncommoner, well said! I still fully plan on voting, no matter what way I go. I still believe the statement "you cannot complain if you do not vote". The corollary is one can complain all they want, as long as they vote!

Just to say one thing - no vote that is cast is ever wasted. There are people fighting, bleeding and dying for the opportunity that we so often take for granted.

Casting your vote is the exercise of political power, however you choose to cast it, it will not be wasted. You may not get the result you desire, but that's one of the realities of democracy (I would love for Canada to adopt an Instant Run-off system).

If your vote is cast and counted, then it's not wasted. Wasting your vote is staying home on election day and withholding yourself from the process that so many have fought so hard for.

As this is my home riding as well, I was happy to see your article up on Progressive Bloggers.

Like you (seem to, anyways) I truly do loathe John Baird. He has not well served his constituents by acting as Chief Thug and Bottle Washer to our glorious, dead-eyed ruler. So he's out.

I've never much liked the Liberal PM's I've lived under either, though from what I've read and learned I have no objection to Ms. Vandenbeld. Likewise Marlene Rivier, who I have seen speak in the past though not met in person.

In the past I've voted for the Green Party, a combination of faint hope, protest at the other choices offered me and a desire to see the Green Party get some funding and traction.

This time, though, and given the polling I've seen, I am seriously considering holding my nose and voting for the Liberal Candidate.

Why? Because as my Father always joked (and now I'm finding they were only half-jokes) - I'm Canadian, and we don't elect governments, we oust them.

I tend to think that the chance of denying the CPC a seat is my first priority. They have done enough damage and I really want it to end. Harper is vile, and his vision for Canada is repellent to me.

Your mileage, of course, may vary.
